Research and Innovation Industry Workshop with Guest Speakers
The UK has rejoined Horizon Europe, but this should only be the start of long-term investment between the EU and UK to boost European competitiveness.
The Chamber's Call for a Green Economy Partnership calls for joint EU-UK research, innovation and skills development to support the European Green Deal and transition to Net Zero.
On Tuesday, 8 October, the Chamber is hosting an Industry Workshop with high-level guest speakers for research and innovation specialists to contribute your knowledge, position and expertise to our upcoming report on an EU-UK Green Economy Partnership.
We are calling on the EU and UK to closely cooperate on Net Zero in order to fulfil their climate objectives, and research and innovation is among the five key pillars on which we encourage structured dialogue between the EU and UK to achieve their Net Zero objectives.
The workshop, led by Gregg Jones (Director, Coventry University), will include leading voices in business, NGOs, trade associations and policy experts, focusing on optimising the EU-UK agreement on Horizon Europe to work together in order the achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals and to boost Europe's growth and competitiveness through research, innovation and skills development supporting the European Green Deal and transition to Net Zero.
The discussions and outcomes of the workshop will form the basis for our research and innovation pillar in our upcoming EU-UK Green Economy Partnership report.
